A good post by Anton Falco on Substack regarding Tuesday’s storm event that caused flooding throughout Glanbrook and parts of Niagara Region.

I noted on Tuesday:

The Buffalo weather radar, operated by the United States National Weather Service, estimated a peak rain intensity of 76 millimetres per hour over Glanbrook, with an estimated total rainfall this morning of 125 millimetres in the area.

The July average rainfall for Hamilton Airport, according to Environment Canada, is 97mm.

Police Board, 1pm: The Police Service Board meets this afternoon at 1:00 p.m. Items on the agenda include: the 2025 Hate Crimes annual report, and the police service’s EDI (DEI) strategy. I’ll be in the public gallery at City Hall observing the meeting.

Municipal Election: I set my calendar for The 155 Podcast interviews. I will have 199 appointment slots available for candidates to select their interview times. Interviews will begin on Friday, August 14, and conclude on Sunday, September 20. Mayoral frontrunner candidate interviews will follow during the week of September 21 to 25.

Projects: I’ve taken advantage of this week to get a lot of administrative and catch-up work complete. The AI meetings through June and July were time consuming. My open data projects are progressing well, my email backlog is getting worked on (it is bad), and my elections website is nearing launch.
