The start of today’s CityHousing Hamilton Sole Shareholder meeting was slightly delayed due to a lack of quorum at the scheduled start time of 12:30 p.m.

Only 7 of 16 Council members were present. Quorum is a majority of members, 50 per cent plus one, meaning 9 members were required for the meeting to begin.

Two council members walked into the Chamber as Deputy Mayor Tom Jackson was announcing the meeting could not start. With quorum met, the meeting began less than a minute behind schedule.

This publication tracks Council attendence measured by who is present at the scheduled start time. The reporting is consistent and fair. If quorum is not met, that is reported.
