There was a line-up when doors open at City Hall this morning with ten aspiring candidates waited for the 8:30 a.m. opening of nominations for Hamilton’s 2022 municipal election.
By the end of the day, 22 people had registered to run for public office.
Here is the listing of first-day registrations, as provided by the City of Hamilton at 4:30 p.m.

We should be reducing at least 3 wards the same way other cities have.
We could have 3 councillors for east Hamilton , central and west Hamilton , 2 for the mountain -east mountain , west mountain , 1 in Dundas/greensville, 1 in Stoney creek, 1 in waterdown/carlisle, 1 in Flamborough, 1 in Ancaster, 1 in Binbrook and 1 in Mount Hope
Right now 3 councillors overlap Flamborough ( Cassar, Wilson, McMeekin) No one really focuses on mount Hope or Binbrook.
