Hamilton Centre Member of Parliament Aslam Rana’s social media is an endless stream of photos of him posing with people, posing with cabinet ministers, and standing in front of things in Hamilton Centre.

His most recent influencer-style post states “It was a pleasure to join Minister of Housing and Infrastructure, the Honourable Gregor Robertson, as he toured the facility at 205 Melvin and discussed how #Budget2025 will help build more affordable housing for Canadians.”

A X post by Hamilton Centre MP Aslam Rana states he joined the Minister of Housing; he showed up for a few minutes before the tour, took photos, and left.

The post includes three photos and a ten second video clip of Rana in the lobby.

The photos were taken within moments of Minister Robertson’s arrival, with Rana’s staff member hurriedly directing people into the photo-op.

As soon as the photos were taken, Rana left.

Liberal MPs Lisa Hepfner and John-Paul Danko joined Minister Robertson for the 15-minute tour, which was followed by a 45-minute meeting with Indwell representatives.

As I noted earlier today, Minister Robertson spent 45 minutes meeting with Indwell representatives, leaving with a binder of information, and remarking that he would be seeing them again soon.

I’m sure Rana will show up next time; the question is if he’ll do more than take selfies?

  1. Aslam Rana is a grifter. How a guy that doesn’t know the difference between federal, provinical, and municipal is beyond me. He kept trying to make it look like he’s involved with the Jamesville project, but he doesn’t have anything to do with it. I emailed to ask what involvement he’s had with it and got no reply.

  2. He is terrible. I voted for him. Doesn’t answer emails, and yes, his social media is exactly as described. He did do a ‘town hall’ in the Rosedale area. There was no mention of it on his social media. I only knew because someone in a Rosedale FB group posted about it the afternoon of.
