I have been at City Hall this morning, working on various stories while observing the comings and goings here at 71 Main Street West.

I have learned that over the weekend, many of the council members defeated at the polls moved out and cleaned their offices during the weekend.

In a good change from four years ago, there were not piles of junk and garbage left behind for facilities staff to deal with.

As for City Hall, the building is much quieter than usual for Monday. Many staff and re-elected councillors are taking the opportunity to use vacation days before things become busy again next week.

Nobody is expecting any rest, and everyone is expecting very long days and evenings, upon the new Council term beginning on November 15.
