A contested hearing regarding how much the City of Hamilton should be required to pay the landowners at 347 Parkside Drive in Waterdown for expropriating a portion of the Greenbelt property to build the Waterdown bypass road has been postponed.

The Ontario Land Tribunal calendar states the matter is now “on hold.”

The calendar does not state why the matter is on hold.

A 10-day contested hearing regarding the expropriation was scheduled to begin on Monday, January 19, 2026.

The owners of the property, 2441066 Ontario Inc., have been seeking to have approximately 6.2 hectares of the property fronting onto Parkside Drive added to Hamilton’s urban boundary. The lands are presently within the Greenbelt, on the border with the urban boundary.

Confidential discussions between the landowners and the City of Hamilton are ongoing.
