Tammy Hwang will seek re-election next year.

“I think it’s a privilege to already be serving Ward 4,” Hwang said today in response to the question.

“I’d like to continue building and I’d like to continue with building some of the the projects and the momentum that we’ve already started,” Hwang stated. “I think that in order to do that, I will run for a second term.”

Hwang is a rookie councillor. She won the Ward 4 seat in 2022 with 23 per cent of the vote in a 11 candidate race without an incumbment.

Mayor Andrea Horwath, Ward 1 Councillor Maureen Wilson, and Ward 2 Councillor Cameron Kroetsch have also declared their intent to seek re-election.

The 2026 election voting day is October 26.
