The United Church of Canada’s development partner, Kindred Works, is proposing to build a 12-storey, 176-unit rental building on the site of Binkley United Church in West Hamilton.

The proposal includes plans for a ground-level cafe, 135 one-bedroom, 26 two-bedroom, and 15 three-bedroom units.

The lands at 1570 Main Street West are approximately 500 metres west of the planned LRT terminus at McMaster University.

The proposed building height is 38.4 metres. A rezoning application will be required because the site’s as-of-right permissions are 11 metres.

74 vehicle parking spaces will be located in a two-storey underground parking lot.

The project architect is KPMB Architects.

Hamilton’s Design Review Panel will review the proposal on Thursday, December 12.
