Ward 2 Hamilton City Councillor Cameron Kroetsch says he’ll seek re-election in 2026.
The first-term councillor confirmed his intention on Thursday.
“Yes, I’m running again,” he stated in response to the question.
2026 will be the third election campaign for Kroetsch. He placed second in 2018, before winning in 2022.
Mayor Andrea Horwath and Ward 1 Councillor Maureen Wilson have both declared their intent to seek re-election.
The 2026 election voting day is October 26.

Cameron indicated in a Facebook post today that councillors should only serve for two terms. After that if they wanted to stay on council, could run in another ward or run for mayor. Obviously he was going to run for a second term. It will be interesting to see he attempts after that.
I think we’ll see a big change this next council. Public spending, accountability and taxes are out if control.
