The Hamilton Public Library’s Director of Finance says they are working to complete and present the HPL’s 2023 and 2024 end-of-year financial statements.

The HPL’s computer systems were fully integrated with the City of Hamilton. When the City of Hamilton failed to secure its computer network and experienced a massive cybersecurity breach in late February 2024, the HPL’s systems and files were also encrypted.

Since then, the HPL has worked to recover and has been separating from the City of Hamilton’s network.

During the past year, financial data has been reproduced.

Pam Byrne told the Library Board she is frequently meeting with City financial managers and the financial statements are nearing completion.

She hopes to present them at the June Library Board meeting.
