The Board of Hamilton’s public housing provider is holding a special meeting on Tuesday with a lengthy agenda which includes a closed session update regarding the Jamesville project.
The City of Hamilton, the Jamesville private development group, and CN Rail have been meeting in confidential settlement talks to find an agreement ahead of a scheduled late February 2025 contest Ontario Land Tribunal hearing.
The most recent public update came on October 30 when the Ontario Land Tribunal stated the parties stated they would not file an Agreed Statement of Facts.
This often indicates sides are making progress towards a settlement agreement.
Any settlement agreement would need the consent of the CityHousing Board, followed by approval at City Council.
The contested hearing dates beginning on February 18, 2025, remain scheduled in the OLT calendar.
