The $106,000 Road Salt Case: Are Municipalities Liable for Salt Damage to Farms?
Last week, headlines roared about a $106,000 ruling against the County of Lambton (County seat is Sarnia) for damages caused by road salt to the lands of a county farmer.
Would this, as the Ontario Good Roads Association – a lobby group representing municipalities – set a precedent for mass liability of municipalities across Ontario?

290 Barton Street West Starts Planning Process with 34 Stacked Townhouses Proposal
The owner of 290 Barton Street West, who recently caused interest by moving a sales trailer onto the site in December, is starting the formal planning process with the City.
The developer requested a ‘formal consultation’ with city staff for a proposal to construct “34 stacked townhouses on the west side of the subject lands and a commercial/retail building on the east side of the subject lands”.

LIVE 4:30pm: Mayor Eisenberger Press Conference at City Hall
Mayor Eisenberger went to Toronto today, met with Premier Kathleen Wynne, and that’s the only fact we know for sure at this time. Eisenberger says he has a commitment for 100% LRT funding, Wynne says different. The Public Record will look to set the record straight with live video from City Hall at 4:30pm.
