Niagara Regional Councillor Albert Witteveen joined the April 24, 2026, Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority (NPCA) Board meeting while driving a motor vehicle.

Approximately one hour into the meeting, Witteveen asked to speak, opening his question by stating, “I am driving, so it is a little hard to get my hand up.”

Witteveen had his video camera on.

Nobody in the meeting requested Witteveen to stop driving, and he continued to participate in the full meeting of nearly two hours without ever turning his video camera on.

Witteveen represents West Lincoln on the Niagara Regional Council.
