The City of Hamilton’s Acting Director of Transportation Operations & Maintenance Mike Field states a traffic timing issue on York Boulevard and Locke Street in late November was the result of switching from temporary construction timings to a permanent timing.
The left turn signal for westbound traffic “was transitioning from the temporary traffic signal that was associated with the construction project into the permanent traffic signal,” Field said.
“There were some inefficiencies that weren’t, intentional, but just the function of transferring from the temporary to the permanent.”
Field said the City received many calls regarding the issue and quickly dispatched crews to fix the timing.
He says residents should call the City at 905-546-CITY (2489) whenever they have concerns regarding the function of a traffic signal.
“We’ll go out and investigate it and make any adjustments as we see fit.”
