Hamilton City Council is close to naming a replacement to file the seat on Hamilton’s Board of Health that was vacated when physician Dr. Robin Lennox was elected the Member of Provincial Parliament for Hamilton Centre on February 27, 2025.
Council’s Selection Committee is interviewing shortlisted candidates this week. The committee members conducting the interviews are: Clrs Cameron Kroetsch, Brad Clark, Mark Tadeson, Craig Cassar, and Alex Wilson.
Clrs Maureen Wilson and Tom Jackson are not part of the interviews.
There are only two dates set aside for interviews. Yesterday (Tuesday, September 2) and tomorrow (Thursday, September 4).
Tuesday’s in-camera session was approximately 50 minutes long.
It is not known how many people are on the shortlist.
One of the finalists is Greater Hamilton Health Network Manager of Health Equity, Haldimand, and Mental Health and Addictions Ryan Janssen. Janssen is a Registered Psychotherapist.
There is no public timeline for the announcement of the new Board of Health Member.
