Hamilton City Clerk Matthew Trennum has certified all 26 candidates who registered for the Ward 8 by-election.
The certifications occurred this morning, August 12, at City Hall.
Trennum says the City is making it easier than ever for people to vote.
For the first time, Ward 8 residents will be able to vote at any polling place in Ward 8. There will be five voting locations during three days of voting for the by-election, plus a special advance polling location at City Hall.
In past interviews with TPR, Trennum stated he and his staff have reviewed Vancouver’s recent by-election problems and Hamilton will deploy sufficient staffing to ensure people are able to quickly and easily exercise their vote.
“Voting is a fundamental part of civic life,” Trennum said.
The polling locations and dates are:

- Hamilton City Hall, 71 Main Street West, 1st Floor, Room 192
