Hamilton Mayor Andrea Horwath returned to City Hall on Friday without fanfare or announcement. Mayor Horwath was injured on April 29 when she fell on the steps behind City Hall during a wind storm.

Following a three week recovery (two weeks post-surgery), Mayor Horwath resumed attending Council meetings by video conference last week.
Today (May 26), Mayor Horwath attended the 100th anniversary ceremony for the Corps of Commissionaires in front of City Hall. It was her first in-person ceremonial activity since the injury.
During a brief interview, the Mayor noted thanks to all who sent her best wishes in recent weeks, and made a special note of thanking her fellow Council members and staff for all the work they’ve done to ensure uninterrupted services.
The Mayor says she will her in-person activities will remain limited as she continues to recover, in line with medical advice.
