The City of Hamilton posted a statement on its website today saying that 55 city workers who are members of the Hamilton Ontario Water Employees Association could be locked out or on strike beginning on May 15.

The workers are in the positions of Water/Wastewater Operators, Millwrights, Electricians, and Instruments and Control Technicians.

The City website states there will be no interruptions to water services, regulatory requirements, and the water service counter at 330 Wentworth Street North will remain open.

The City will more some non-water operations from sites where water workers pickets may occur.
