There is another indication that settlement talks regarding the future redevelopment of the Jamesville site are progressing well.

The sides had an experts meeting scheduled on October 18 to finalize an Agreed Statement of Facts to be filed to the Ontario Land Tribunal on October 25.

On October 28, TPR requested to review the public file held by the Ontario Land Tribunal to receive a copy of the Statement.

Today, October 30, the Tribunal stated it “has been informed by the parties involved in this case that they will not file an Agreed Statement of Facts.”

This follows an October 16 Hamilton City Council closed session during which Council made two confidential decisions.

It is extremely rare for parties not to file an agreed statement of facts to the OLT.

This indicates that a settlement agreement is close if it has not already been agreed upon in principle.

The contested hearing dates beginning on February 18, 2025, remain scheduled in the OLT calendar.
