Hamilton’s newest land use planner lawyer is no stranger to Hamilton, or municipal politics.

Paula Boutis arrives at the City of Hamilton from the law firm Aird & Berlis where she practiced municipal law – including being municipal integrity commissioner to Cambridge.

Boutis was Norfolk county solicitor, a Member of the Ontario Municipal Board for two years, and was in private practice for nearly 17 years prior. She is the chair of the environmental law branch of the Ontario Bar Association.

Boutis sat on the two-member 2017 Ontario Municipal Board panel that overturned gerrymandered ward boundaries proposed by Hamilton City Council.
