The City Manager’s Breakfast is being renamed the State of the City as the annual event hosted by the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce moves to the lunch hour.

City Manager Marnie Cluckie says the annual address will have a new format and be “more reflective” of “some of the key opportunities and some of the challenges we’re facing” as a city.

Cluckie says she’ll be joined on stage by other members of the senior staff.

“It’s also more in alignment with what other municipalities do” with their annual top bureaucrat events.

The format, and who among the senior staff will be on stage, will be determined close to June.

“We want to make the topics as relevant as possible at that time in June.”

Cluckie expects trade and tariffs to be a focus.

Hamilton is currently interviewing candidates for the position of General Manager of Planning and Economic Development. It is a “possibility” that the new person will be hired before the June 16 event, providing an opportunity for them to meet the business community.

The Chamber is selling tickets for the lunch on its website.

TPR will cover the event.
