Hamilton’s Municipal Heritage Committee failed to reach quorum for its March meeting with only four of eight members attending.
The committee is composed of seven citizens and one city councillor. Ward 2 Councillor Cameron Kroetsch was not visible during the meeting livestream.
Despite lacking quorum, the committee “informally met” to hear a presentation by two McMaster undergraduate students encouraging the City of Hamilton to make Ottawa Street North a historical conservation district.
A special heritage committee meeting is now scheduled for April 4.
This is the third meeting cancelled thus far in 2025 due to quorum issues.
Added Info: Ward 2 Clr Cameron Kroetsch posted on Bluesky “To be transparent about my absence, I’ve been sick in bed for the last couple of days, which is why I couldn’t make it to the Hamilton Municipal Heritage Committee.”
