Council’s Truck Route Sub-Committee wants to change the City’s present truck route signage system to add restrictive signing to “proactively work with each ward Councillor to determine problematic truck route violation locations” and place new signs to discourage trucks from leaving truck routes.
Hamilton’s present truck route signage is “permissive” meaning signs tell trucks where they can go, but does not clearly show where they cannot drive.
Ward 6 Councillor Tom Jackson says his residents wish to see restrictive signs to ensure trucks do not leave the City’s truck routes or use the Kenilworth Access.
This proposal was originally scheduled for a vote in early May, but do to a lack of quorum, the meeting was adjourned.
