Ward 9 City Councillor Brad Clark has publicly released the monthly Hamilton Police crime statistics report for Ward 9 that covers the month of October.
All 15 members of Hamilton City Council can receive monthly updates on crime trends for their ward. Hamilton Police do not make the data available for the general public. The Hamilton Police Service Board has a commercial agreement with LexisNexis to provide crime data information to the American company.
In October, 90 property crime incidents were reported in Ward 9, an increase increase over the five-year monthly average of 70.4. Year-to-date, there have been 824 total property crime incidents in the ward.
Violent crime also trended higher than historical norms. There were 25 reported violent crime incidents in October, compared to the five-year monthly average of 20.6. The year-to-date total for violent crime stands at 268 incidents.
Specific incident breakdowns for October 2025 include:
Assault: 18 incidents (162 YTD).
Auto Theft: 9 incidents (124 YTD).
Theft From Auto: 13 incidents (79 YTD).
Break and Enter: 4 incidents (29 YTD).
Sexual Violation: 2 incidents (26 YTD).
Shootings: 0 incidents (2 YTD).
HPS recorded 52 collisions in October, exceeding the five-year average of 45.8.
Of the collisions reported in October, 47 were classified as non-injury, and 5 involved injuries.
Police received 291 calls for service in Ward 9 during October, just under the monthly average of 294.6.
The top three event types generating police response in Ward 9 were ‘Suspicious Activity’ at 36 calls, ‘Domestic’ at 28 calls, and ‘Ambulance, Fire, Other Assist’ at 22 calls.
