Hamilton’s Children’s Museum will reopen to the public on Saturday, January 10, 2026, following a three-year renovation and expansion project.
Details on the reopening events will be released by the City of Hamilton at a later date.
The museum, located in a historic 1875 farmhouse within Gage Park, is undergoing a $6.7-million expansion and renovation project. This investment aims to meet modern accessibility standards, and add vital programming space to the facility.
The addition adds 3,800 square feet to the facility, including an elevator that makes the second floor of the historic farmhouse accessible.
The expansion features an all-new fully accessible exhibition space that includes new exhibits focused on local themes, including the Niagara Escarpment. The new facility will also include 2SLGBTQIA+ positive spaces.
Construction began in 2023.
