Ward 8 By-Election candidate Sonia Brown continues to lie about where she lives.
Ms. Brown lives in Ward 14’s Gurnett neighbourhood, according to the nomination papers she signed to register for election and the government-issued identification she provided when she registered.
During the past two weeks, Ms. Brown has been claiming that I, Joey Coleman, am lying about her nomination papers.
The Municipal Elections Act provides that nomination forms are public documents.
In the September 9, 2025, story reporting about three candidates who are publicly lying about living in Ward 8, TPR included redacted copies of the three candidates’ nomination forms. This publication chose to redact candidates’ submitted postal codes.
The posting of the forms was to prove the story was factual and based on accurate records.
During the past two weeks, Ms. Brown has stated the story is “misinformation” and suggested the redaction is because I (Joey Coleman) have a personal vendetta against her. [Archive.ph copy of Ms. Brown’s post.]
She states she responds “yes” to the question “do you live in Ward 8, Yes or No?” to “reflect my active presence, property ownership, and community engagement in Ward 8—where I vote, pay taxes, operate my business, and spend the majority of my family time.”
Ms. Brown’s decision to continuously mislead the public requires me to provide supporting documentation to disprove Ms. Brown’s continuing false statements.

Ultimately, it is for Ward 8 residents to decide if they wish to elect Ms. Brown.
