This morning, I was informed by Rob Cooper that he was Sonia Brown’s 2022 campaign chair, not the campaign manager as I reported in a June 20, 2025 article entited “Ward 8 By-Election: 2022 Runner-Up Faces Off Against Her 2022 Campaign Manager.”
I regret the error and have made a correction to the article.
The correction does not significantly alter the facts of the story. Cooper was key to Brown’s 2022 campaign, and was her single largest donor.
Due to time gap between the original article and the correction update, I’ve posted this special editorial note to draw attention to the update.
Cooper is now the Ward 8 Councillor-elect, having won with 1129 votes.
