The Hamilton Conservation Authority continues to benefit from post-COVID increases in membership and other revenues as people continue to get outdoors more than they did before the pandemic.
The Authority’s 2024 audited financial statements report a $1,158,694 surplus in 2024. This is a decrease from 2023’s unexpected $5,443,226 surplus.
Revenues decreased in 2024**,** compared to 2023. 2023 saw numerous one-time grants from higher levels of government and a sale of capital assets.
Admission revenues held steady. Rental revenue and private monetary donations increased.
The Authority increased program spending in 2024, primarily in response to increased demand and usage at conservation properties across Hamilton.
A special meeting of the HCA Board of Directors is being held on July 24 to approve the audited statements.
