Hamilton’s three Liberal Members of Parliament have been relegated to the backbenches in Parliament. None were appointed to cabinet or given parliamentary secretary roles.
Prime Minister Mark Carney announced his parliamentary secretary appointments earlier today (June 5), leaving Hamilton Mountain MP Lisa Hepfner, Hamilton West-Ancaster-Dundas MP John-Paul Danko, and Hamilton Centre MP Aslam Rana off the list.
Hepfner previously served as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Women and Gender Equality and Youth before the federal election.
The new seating chart shows Hepfner in the third row of the government benches, Danko in the fourth row in a position where he will sometimes be seen behind the Prime Minister, and Rana in the back (fifth) row.

Burlington’s representative, former cabinet minister Karina Gould was also not appointed to any role.
Gould ran in the Liberal Party leadership race, placing third with just over three percent of the vote. She is seated on the front row, near the entrance to the House.
