The Toronto Transit Commission has published a detailed review of service disruptions during storm events, including February’s back-to-back snowstorms.

Of note for Hamilton, the review states the TTC will proactively replace articulated buses with regular-length vehicles before snow events.

Additionally, the TTC’s new snow plan will proactively announce temporary stop closures in locations “that cannot be safely operated due to steep hills or known slippery conditions.”

The TTC will also ensure that supervisors and managers are on duty and present in person during storm events to support operations and communications.

More information can be learned in Steve Munro’s review of the TTC report.

The City of Hamilton is not conducting a similar comprehensive review.
