What are the City of Hamilton’s federal election priorities?

We’ll have to wait and see. This Council term has already set one of those priorities: Hamilton City Council wants to see the federal Liberals continue with more media regulation following Council’s endorsement of Bill C-18.

In 2021, the City’s priorities were: Supportive Housing and Tackling Poverty, Impacts of Climate Change, Strong Economic Recovery [COVID-19], Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and Championing Rural Communities.

This week, I took note of two nearby municipalities releasing lists of priorities.

Burlington’s list includes the economy (esp. tariffs), housing, municipal financial tools, mental health and addictions, and climate change.

Mississauga’s list includes: getting housing built, affordability, and economic response to tariffs.
