Mayor Andrea Horwath is on her way to Washington D.C. hoping to meet United States congressional representatives and senators during the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Initiative’s annual Great Lakes Day.
The annual event will be held between March 4 and 7.
In a statement announcing the trip, the Mayor states she “will use this opportunity to champion Hamilton’s manufacturing sector and fight for the city’s economic stability.”
The list of attendees for the breakfast event on Capitol Hill includes the American mayors and seven Canadian mayors.
Mayor Valerie Plante of Montreal is among the attendees.
The Capital Hill breakfast program does not list which members of Congress are expected to attend.
