In a statement today, Nathaniel Erskine-Smith, federal Minister of Housing, Infrastructure and Communities, stated the feds are giving $88-million over two years, split amongst ten Ontario municipalities.

The exact amount for Hamilton is not listed. The federal government says Hamilton is ‘matching’ the amount. [It does not explain how matching is determined.]

The ten municipalities are Ontario’s largest. In December, the feds announced London would receive $5-million of the $88-million. Hamilton’s cut is likely to be similar to this amount.
