The Ontario Government is proposing to amend the Metrolinx Act to expand the GO Transit service area to include the Six Nations of the Grand River and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation reserves.

In a regulatory registry notice posted today, the Government states, “Metrolinx has been working with Six Nations of the Grand River and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, which are adjacent to each other and located in close proximity to established GO Bus Route 15 (Brantford/Burlington). If made, the proposed regulatory amendment to Ontario Regulation 189/09 will add the Six Nations of the Grand River and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation reserves as part of the GO Transit service area, allowing Metrolinx to begin serving the two communities.”

Public comments are open until January 10, 2025.

UPDATE: The Province implemented the change on January 24.
