- Councillors heard from families of those killed in collisions on the Red Hill Valley Parkway and the Lincoln Alexander Parkway. The families are requesting median barriers on the freeways. Councillors voted to request a staff report to look in more detail at installing barriers.
- The Hamilton Aviary is in rough shape after years of being ignored by the City and recent internal difficulties for the volunteer Friends of the Aviary that funds and maintains the Aviary. Council voted to give the Friends a month settle which of the two competing Boards is the valid one, and to provide Council with a plan for the future of the Aviary. With an OSPCA order in place to closed the Aviary by the end of 2017 due to poor conditions, time is running short.
- The HSR Director presented the new upper management structure of the HSR to Councillors. (I analyzed the upper management restructure in August and gave it a thumbs up) Councillors praised the HSR Director for excellence in service and innovation. None of them asked any questions about the ongoing problem of missed bus trips or operator shortages.
